Criteria for application to rank examination

Criteria for application to rank examination

A student should know all requirements for the rank for which he intends to make application, unless given special permission of exemption.

He should be able to perform those requirements at a level of competency commensurate for the level to which he applies. The determination of this achievement will be at the discretion of the yu dan ja whey, which will have the obligation of teaching, coaching, guiding and informing the student of how to attain the requisite standards of technical, conceptual, academic, and pedagogical excellence.

The student will be expected to have completed the minimum number of lessons and the minimum number of assisting and teaching lessons specific to the rank for which he intends to apply, unless otherwise excepted by the yu dan ja whey.

The student will be required to have successfully completed all written and oral examination requirements before being permitted to participate in the technical part of the examination, with emergency-based circumstances accepted at the discretion of the yu dan ja whey. If such cases arise, a fairly defined deadline for those parts in which the student is remiss will be clearly stated at the time the postponement is granted.

The yu dan ja whey will ensure that the student has had adequate opportunity to be integrally involved in service to the school community and its individual members in roles ancillary but supportive of the general progress and foundation mission of the school.
